What Is HitVocals?

HitVocals is a specialist marketplace for professional vocals, connecting vocalists with producers, DJs, labels and other music professionals. The platform brings vocal discovery, licensing, artist submissions, payments and rights management together in one place.

Every vocal on the platform is performed by a real human artist. Nothing is generated. That is the basis the whole library is built on, and our open letter on human artists explains why we hold that line.

Producers and DJs can discover and license professional vocal performances. Vocalists can upload their work, set their own terms, and build a catalogue that keeps earning.

Unlike a traditional sample library, HitVocals puts artists and producers in the same room. A sample library sells you a file and the relationship ends there. Here you can message the artist, negotiate the price, ask for something written specifically for your track, and be introduced directly once the deal completes.

How HitVocals Works

The platform runs two ways round. One side is looking for a voice, the other is selling one. Both routes are free to start and neither needs a subscription.

    Search the library by genre, key, tempo, vocal type and licence, or describe what you want in plain English.

  2. Listen

    Audition anything on an interactive waveform before you spend a penny. Browsing is free and always has been.

  3. License

    Take it exclusively or non-exclusively, make an offer, and get a formal agreement covering exactly what you may do with it.

  4. Produce

    Download the full WAV stem package, wet and dry, and get introduced to the artist who sang it.

For Vocalists & Artists

  1. Upload

    Add your toplines, hooks, full songs, covers and samples. There is no cost to upload and no monthly fee.

    Our A&R team reviews every submission. If it is not right yet you get detailed feedback, not a silent rejection.

An Industry First

Royalty Fair Samples

Free to use, but the artist still shares in a hit.

Royalty Fair is a new royalty model for samples, pioneered by HitVocals. A Royalty Fair sample is free to use in your production, with nothing to pay up front and no clearance to chase. If the record it ends up on becomes a hit, the artist who sang it becomes entitled to a small share of the publishing royalties.

It exists because the usual choice is a bad one for everybody. Royalty-free samples pay the singer once and never again, however big the record gets. Fully cleared samples cost money before you even know whether the idea works. Royalty Fair removes the cost of trying something, and keeps the artist attached to the outcome if it lands.

What is HitVocals?

HitVocals is a specialist online marketplace for professional vocals. Producers, DJs and labels come to find and license vocal recordings; vocalists and writers come to sell them. The platform handles discovery, licensing, payments and rights administration in one place, and every vocal on it is performed by a real human artist.

What can I buy on HitVocals?

Full song vocals, toplines, hooks, acapellas and short vocal samples, across house, tech house, Afro house, EDM, dance, trance, pop and more. You can also commission a custom vocal written specifically for your track, or have an AI demo re-recorded by a human vocalist.

Can I sell my vocals on HitVocals?

Yes. Vocalists and writers can upload toplines, hooks, full songs, covers and samples, set their own prices and licence terms, and sell directly to producers. Uploading is free and there is no subscription. Every submission is reviewed by our A&R team before it goes live, and you get feedback if it is not right yet.

Can I sell vocal samples as well as full vocals?

Yes. There is a separate sample uploader for short-form material such as phrases, ad-libs, hooks and harmonies. It is a way to earn from recordings that would otherwise sit unused, and it is often the quickest route to a first sale on the platform.

What is the difference between exclusive and non-exclusive vocals?

An exclusive vocal is licensed to one client only. It has never been released before and it comes off the market once you take it, so nobody else can build on that performance. A non-exclusive licence lets the same recording be licensed to more than one producer, which is why it costs a fraction of the exclusive price. Both are properly cleared. Can I request a custom vocal?

Yes. If the library does not have what you need, you can send a custom request and have a vocal written and recorded specifically for your production. It takes two clicks from the site, and artists can also receive and respond to requests directly. How custom vocals work.

Can I contact vocalists directly?

Yes. There is in-platform messaging for talking to any artist on the site, before or after a purchase, and once a sale completes you are introduced directly. That direct line is one of the main differences between HitVocals and an ordinary sample library.

Does HitVocals handle the contracts?

Yes. The platform issues a formal licensing agreement for every transaction, drafted by a leading UK music law firm, setting out which rights are being granted and on what terms. You can read the agreement before you commit. Our licence guide walks through what it covers.

Can I use HitVocals vocals commercially?

Yes, that is what they are for. The licence you take sets out exactly what you may do, including releasing commercially and distributing to streaming platforms. Some terms differ between exclusive and non-exclusive licences, so read the agreement attached to the vocal you are licensing.

What is a Royalty Fair sample?

Royalty Fair is a royalty model for samples that HitVocals pioneered. The sample is free to use, with nothing to pay up front, but if the record it appears on becomes a hit the artist who sang it is entitled to a small share of the publishing royalties. It removes the cost of experimenting while keeping the singer attached to the outcome. Licence types are shown on each sample and can be filtered for.

Do artists keep their royalties?

How do artists get paid?

Earnings appear in your account as sales complete. You can withdraw to your own bank account anywhere in the world, or transfer to another user inside the platform. The payments guide covers the process in full.

Is HitVocals free to use?

Browsing, previewing, signing up and uploading are all free, for producers and artists alike. There is no subscription. Producers pay for the vocals they license; artists pay a commission on what they sell.

Does HitVocals accept AI-generated vocals?

No. We do not accept fully AI-generated vocals, and every vocal on the platform is performed by a real person. We do offer a re-vocal service that turns an AI demo into a human recording. The demo stays a sketch and a professional vocalist performs the version you release.

Can I use HitVocals on my phone?

Yes. The platform works across desktops, laptops and phones, and is built to feel like a native app on mobile rather than a shrunken desktop site.
